Jensen Audio

Please no yelling...

I am looking at a Jensen Marine Audio head unit, the Jensen Ms2013btr in particular. I am looking into this brand because I need square shaped remotes. Has anyone had any dealings with this brand. It meets all the marine criteria, has blue tooth for my ipod and pre outs. Everything I need. It just doesn't seem to be mentioned here.

David, can you comment please.

Thanks

rob

Actually Jensen makes the black box and remotes that are badged "polk" for the new Nautiques.

They blow the doors of the Fosgate junk that Malibu puts in our 80k boats...

That is the only Jensen product that I have experience with.

Thanks, Jensen is actually ASA electronics, I didn't know they made product for Polk. This head unit and the companion remote seem to do everything I need but at a slightly cheaper price. I would love someone to chime in if they have experience. I am really looking for a unit that can manage and run music quickly off my iphone. So many of the head units and remotes I have played with cycle very slowly through songs on the iphone. painful is more like it.

Rob,

I consider Jensen to be more of a price point product. ASA, like Jensen, are under the Audiovox umbrella. I just don't have enough experience with Jensen to give you qualified advice. Sorry. Expeditors, those who do a lot of work for car dealers, probably use a fair amount of Jensen/ASA/Audiovox products. You might check that avenue for a reference.

As an unrelated sidenote, it was Jensen (under different ownership) that built the first 6X9 automotive coaxials (with blue surrounds) in the early '70s. They were a game-changer. With a Craig Dolby cassette player or a Pioneer underdash SuperTuner (both delivered 5 watts per channel before the advent of amplifiers/boosters) combined with a pair of Jensen 6X9s, you were the man.

I had a pair in my 72 Monte Carlo. Matched to an under-dash Pioneer 8 Track.

Kiss, Aerosmith and Rush never sounded better ...
