back seat removal on 06 v ride

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the steps to take to remove the "back" part of the backseat? I have an 06 v ride and the threads are staying to pull. I want to break it apart and sew it up.

Remove all the screws from the brace all the way across the back. You'll want to remove pylon for one of the screws, remove the bolt that's on the bottom of the pylon and it should pull out. There's also 1 or 2 lags in each corner that can be accessed by reaching back through the gunnel.

For the lag screws along the gunwale my old o4 vlx had 4 lag screws. If they are all out it comes out easily.

I took all the screws out and two very difficult lag bolts on each side. Don't know what I am missing but it is still setting there like a brick. I do not see any bolts holding it. Afraid I am going to break something! Help!!

There are probably more lag bolt way back there. Mine old boat had 4 per side.

Part of the tower (springs) could be blocking my view but I don't see any. ..

A lot of hoses and wires are secured to that seatback as well, hopefully you got all that out of the way.....I'm betting you're overlooking a lag on each side.

It's been over a year since I've had mine out, but if I remember right, there were 3 lags in each side. 2 were up high and 1 down low.

One on each side we behind the tower and difficult to remove. I cut them out! I was not about to take the tower apart for the back seat. Thanks for all your help. Now we just need it to warm up so we can hit the lake!
