Alternator rebuild

My alternator was going in and out last time the boat was out. So I pulled it and took it to a local shop that rebuilds starters and alternators. The called and said the brushes were toast and after the alternator warmed up it stopped working. Exactly what I was experiencing on the water. They repaired everything, replaced the bearings, sand blasted and painted the case. Installed new hardware and I was out of pocket only $116.

Just thought I would share so some of you might be able to save a few dollars next time an alternator goes out.

Just for a quick reference on what a new one from bakes cost.
