Houseboating

We have a houseboat booked for a week in October - looking forward to the cool evenings and quiet water.

We are also going to look at 5 different houseboats that are for sale - some age, size and price differences to start to get a feel for a future purchase. This could be a long process !

Good choice, but I'm kinda bias. We are at holly creek. Check out elite boat sales and houseboats but terry to get an idea of the market. Let me know what you end up looking for and I will keep an eye out. Our boat was at sunset when we bought it.

We are looking to go house boating for the first time next summer. Not looking for the crazy party scene, but a nice clean deep lake (that I'm not going to ground my bu on). We are going with two other families, and would like to foot, slalom, board, fish, bbq, and have evening cocktails. Would Dale Hollow be the best choice over other lakes in the area?

You can't go wrong with Dale Hollow or Lake Cumberland. Both are awesome. If you choose DHL, I can give you lots of tips on marinas, where to ski, nice coves, restaurants, etc. I know many on LC but not as well.

What is nice about DHL is there is lots of nice shoreline where you can tie up and then get up onto shore. Coves galore and you can pretty much always find a small private cove to tie up the HB in and "be alone". There are two courses on the lake, one is dependable the other appears some years and not others. I don't fish, but the lake has some record catches from it, and I know a guide (he towed us in after a breakdown last summer - :) )

There are marinas scattered around the lake, but the lakeshore is all USACE controlled and managed so there are no homes or private docks out on the water. There are also some DNR recreation areas you can access that have roped off beach / swimming areas for kids if you want it.

How many people? I will send you a PM with some marina details for different boats.

DH sounds perfect. Right now we are planning on 6 adults, 3 teens, and one pre-teen. Any tips you have would be great. One pr of adults have gone before, but only once and I believe it was to Lake Cumberlin.
