G3 tower lights

Hi gang,

looks like I'll be purchasing a 2010 VLX and may need to install a pair of tower lights, just wondering if the G3 tower is already wired for lights on the 2010 models. Thanks a bunch.

Not on mine and depending on how the aluminum backing plate for the tower base is run it might be a real PITA to run the wire(s) through the port side G3 base and gunwale to the drivers side. One wire for a light will probably be easy anything more than 1 wire will be a challenge.

There is a hole on the starboard side you can use. You don't have to use very large wire if you use HID or LED's. They don't pull much amperage. I used jacketed 14/4 conductor and it was very easy to fish. All your fuses and controls are on the driver's side anyways.

No need to run through and around the bow or across the walkway.

There are two wires from your fuse panel. White and white/ blk tracer. These can be used to control a relay for the lights. Those wires are not meant to power lights directly.
