Hi everyone, I was looking at the barefoot international boom bars today any was curious if anyone on here has used one before and what your thoughts were? I have used a boom before when learnin to foot and it was really easy compared to a rope. So I'm thinking it might be a good investment to look at especially if we are going I be teaching people to ski and wakeboard fairly often. Any pics would be much appreciated. My boat is a '02 sunsetter lxi. Thanks

G'day, Cyclone.

My RLXI came with a ROLCO boom and I gave it a run last season. It's fine. Would be nice to support an Aussie supplier...

A friend just got one from The Footers Edge ex USA. He's delighted with that one, too.

I'm planning on using a Footers Edge 'Swing' training seat this season to see if this old body can barefoot! Looks like a great way to go. Check the video on his (Lane Bowers TheFootersEdge) web site.

Buy the boom. Lots of fun especially when teaching. You can have a boat full without affecting the wake, you can instruct from the boat and everyone gets to share and be close to the action. I had one on my 04 RLXI and it was fantastic.

Without a doubt, get one. Best boating equipment purchase you'll ever make. I use my BFI boom daily on my 01 SSLXI. Even though we long line BF, I like the boom for working on new tricks. We've used it a bunch for showing new skiiers, boarders, knee boarders, etc how to do it. It will actually save you money and time. How you ask? Less time (and fuel) taking off, loosing a your new skiier, turning around, picking them back up. and repeating over and over again until they get it. They will take off on the boom and get up first time. Enjoy!

Thanks mate.. I didn't realise rolco made one.. But now that you have mentioned it I think I remember seeing it in the cassell catalogue before.. Will definitely check it out! If I get the footers edge one it will be from twister ski shop in s.a, they are so good to deal with! Thanks again

I do not have a tower. The contour BFI boom fits our boats very well. I have tried a straight boom, but it seems to need the multi position adjustor for it because the end of the boom seems too high for some. I would call "the footers edge" to get their professional advice.

Get a boom, they are an awesome tool! We usually only use our's for barefooting, but when a newby is really struggling or little ones around 5 years want to learn it is an invaluable tool. As others have mentioned it is easy to instruct them and correct there positioning as well as making them feel safe being right there next to the boat. On labour day weekend I taught 3 people how to barefoot. One slalom skier, and 2 that had only ever been on a tube, not a ski, not a wakeboard, nothing. That would never have happened without a boom. :footing:

If you have a tower that allows it, I recommend a tower boom so you don't have to remove/reattach it all the time.
