We bought 2 of the owl statues for our dock and they didn't work very well. Don't waste your money on them IMO.

Try suspending them with fishing line so they move in the breeze.

Think the seagulls will be fooled by statues of birds in perched positions flying with their wings tucked away? :)

No I don't. I have an owl suspended by fishing line about a quarter inch off the ledge it used to sit on. It turns slowly so it's not just stationary.

I think the trick to owls or any other decoy is to keep them moving. Either suspended by a string so they blow in the wind or by putting them in a dicferent location each time you get em out. If they're in the same spot and don't move, critters catch on to it.

If the seagulls where you live are that smart, I would just hang one (1) milk sack from Canada and one (1) Sperry Topsider near the boat using a ripped up old white T-shirt. That ought to get your message across.

Yup. Did that. Still didn't work. And forget the DVD's on fishing line also. They didn't work either.
