Recommended Posts

My 13 y.o. daughter want to learn to surf - she is quite stable on a wake skate. What's a good board to learn on? (that's available down under)

Regards

CP

Glad you had good luck with it. I tried it once and hated it. The 5'4 with all 3 fins. Felt slow and wouldn't spin. But..... That was when our wave sucked so i would have to try it again, seems to have a good rapport.

I will sell you mine cheap if you want another one! Lol...much prefer the broadcast to the Cortez and I am an unabashed Ronix fan boy.

I had similar results with a cortex. Didn't liek it at all. Felt like a HUGE board, very slow and sluggish. We have a landlock for beginners and I think that board is more versatile, faster, more agile AND still more stable than a cortex. Really I HATED that board. It was near impossible to keep my mouth shut when the owner asked what I thought, I told him to try mine.

Of the boards I've ridden for beginners and a boat board I vote Hyperlite broadcast first or landlock.

I have a new, 1 month old CWB Ride. The Ride IMO is the best for beginners. I could let it go for $200

I have had many new surfers on it and it's also nice when you become a little more advanced. Removable fins, comes in three sizes. Edited by Fman

We like the liquid force Fish. Everyone gets up and rides with it, and it looks great and is cheap.

Curious if this board made going ropeless any easier? I am coming off an Obrian Alias which I struggled with. Just got the 5'3" fish for xmas, looking forward to trying it

Michigan boarder

I have a Broadcast 5.3 and a Broadcast 4.9. Both are decent boards for anyone to ride, lots of first timers on those behind our boat. Big one for the bigger people, small one for the middle-schoolers.

Too bad you're in NY. I've been looking for a tsunami on and off for awhile.

I learned on a Broadcast, and most people I know are the same.

Where do you live? I'm ready to ship it (flat screen TV box) UPS ground.
