Vinyl cleaners - can you overdue it?

Recommended Posts

My routine is to towel down the boat (inside and out) after every outing, then later I generally go back over with some vinyl cleaner (Boat Candy brand) and hit tough spots. Once every 2-3 times I go over everything with vinyl cleaner whether I see dirt or not. Every month or so I use vinyl conditioner.

My question is can you ever go too far with the cleaners? Would it be better sometimes to use a damp rag?

I noticed with the conditioner it can get a bit greasy and I don't like that...

I think you're doing everything just right.

That greasy feeling to me is the extra layer of protection the vinyl needs. You could try to towel it a little drier after applying.
