Leaking plastic elbows on Cats

Recommended Posts

Title says it all. The ones that enter the cat at 90* from 1" cooler hose. What would you use as thread sealant/tape before I reinstall. I will be replacing them with brass at a later date but have a camping trip planned in 2 days. Thanks in advance for your replies. Cheers.

Thanks for the warning! Elbows are in good shape, looks like sealant broke down...love these easy fixes...how many more though on a 900 hr boat...touching wood.

+1 for the thread sealant on the Bakes site. I just revealed all my elbows. Didn't buy the sealant from Bakes but found the same stuff at the local automotive store. Worked great!
