check engine malibu vride 2006

i've got a 2006 Malibu vride with a 340 hp monsoon engine only 1 problem sometimes during wakeboarding when engine is on idle speed we get a warning check engine and its not possible to speed up any more. when we restart the engine the problem is gone and is not a problem for the hole day

but sometimes its every 5 minutes check engine

all the fluids are oke

i'm living in Holland so i'm trying my best with the language

Check your spark plugs and spark arrestor. I had the same issue. I haven't seen the message since I replaced the plugs and cleaned the arrestor.

We change the spark plugs each year and the problem is from the last 2 years for me its strange that weeks its going oke and than every 5 minuts

Ha I sold mine a couple of years ago so can't walk you through, but if memory serves it was pretty self explanatory running through the menus on the screen. Same screen as speed control etc, just a different menu.

I will look for it tommorow if the problem pop up again but i read on this forum that its not possible on the 2006 malibu, s only from 2007 and later. I know i can get in the menu for the brightness and move the gauges but the rest ?
