Has anyone ever tried to build their own pivit hitch? The company wants $300 bucks for their aftermarket product ... I figure someone could make on with $20 worth of steel plating!!

The trailer companys have there trailers tested and approuved. For 300$, I wouldn't want to have to argue with my insuarance company if an accident were to happen du to this modification. Or even worst, having caused an accident on my conscience...

I looked into the Pivit Hitch last fall, but decided against it. Have you contacted a local trailer repair company to see what they might charge?

I believe Slurpee might still have a Pivit Hitch he purchased and ended up not using. You might want shoot him a PM.
