Hour meter running time vrs power on

This is my first boat and noticed that the hour

Meter seems to be running when power is on.

Can I power radio without meter running?

Love the boat so far !!!!

My '02 only spun the meter when the engine was running. I think 300 RPM was the threshold.

He's on a '12, using MTC...no accessory position.

OP, are you SURE your hours are ticking with the boat off? I'd take a video and post. The hours are stored on the ECM and for mnay years the ECM would not tick hours for the boat being energized.
