Shaft Alignment side to side

Recommended Posts

My shaft is out of alignment from right to left. I'm not understanding how to loosen the motor so I can move it.

The motor has 4 bolts that tilt to motor for the top to bottom alignment. It then has pins with nuts on one end on every mount for side to side. I'm not sure what they are called. The way it was explained to me for the pins was to remove the nuts and pop the pins out so you have move the motor left to right. The problem is the pins wont come out so I can't move it left to right.

The shaft is connected to the vdrive but the bolts are lose.

What am I missing?

At the other end of those "pins" are what is called trunnions. These are "receivers" so to speak that allow the pins to slide in and out. Each trunnion has a split with a bolt going thru it that clamps onto the "pin". Losen the bolts and the pins will move allowing the engine/trans to move side to side. You will more than likely need to take the weight off the motor mount to acheive the side to side movement needed.
