Do you have a old plug #?

You should be able to go down to your local auto parts store to pick up replacements with no problem. JM2C I would change them out to platinum

My 5.7 Mercury Blue Water Ski edition uses AC-MR43T w/ .016 gap.

Timing is 8 deg. BTDC

Fire order is 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2

Wide Open Throttle is 4000-4400 RPM

dwell is 27 - 31 deg.

Mallory ignition with a quadrajet carb.

I'm due for new plug wires this summer.

Have you converted to electronic pickup instead of using points in the distributor? I highly recommend it. It's only $80 through Pertronix.

Are there any advantages to converting besides not having to change the points every few years?

I always do what the book says.

In fact, tomorrow, I'm changing the oil and trans. fluid in a friend's 'Bu.

I'm using the exact oil, filter, and ATF the book says. And, BTW, it's not what the dealer usually sells me.
