Power or Manual wedge..

Thanks everyone for your replies on the two boats I'm looking at. Refresh a 08 with LCR and an 07 with the Hammerhead. The seller of the 08 now tells me his boat doesn't have a power wedge. Question, if you have a small family and want to surf does the power wedge give you more control of the wake? Or are they just gimmick that requires extra service?

Thanks in Advance AGAIN..

Have a manual wedge and never ridden a power wedge but the consensus here is the best part about it is tweaking the wave and ability to adjust. The floating wedge does a great job at giving push/lip, has no maintenance (or potential problems) and obviously requires no power to operate on or off the trailer (I drop mine for storage in the home garage). But it doesn't offer any adjust-ability and does require you getting off your butt in the drivers seat if your the only real "captain" of the boat. I know when I'm with friends I have no issue, When I'm with family I can get a bit annoyed going back to lift the wedge when I can adjust everything else from the captains chair.
