How does the 2005 23' LSV surf?

Crew,

I am looking at a 2005 23' LSV and have been told it needs a ton of weight to make a good surf wave. Can anyone help me understand what the wave would look like and how much weight I might need?

I run surf side rear hard tank full, center full, bow full, with 1100 lbs on top of rear tank, 750lbs on floor, 250lbs in bow, and depending on number of people in boat another 250lb on rear seat surf side. Surf wave is good with this setup. Just wishing we would stop getting snow up here in Canada so the melt can start to get back out there.

I have a 04 23 with no stock ballast. I run a 1600lbs custom sack, a 750 on the seat, a 400 on the floor, and a 400 in the bow. Speed around 11.5-12. Wave is real long with tons of push.
