Where do you crash in the waterski course

WTF

Recommended Posts

I recently read an article that a professional waterskier fell a little behind in the course at 5 ball and had really lay on it to make through to 6 and out the gate. His momentum going out the gate almost put him back in the boat or on the ski platform. So this got me thinking, yes I do think! Where in the course do most of your crashes occur? I have crashed going through the entry gate and around two ball, (Right Foot Forward Skier), but the worst crashes I have taken have been around 5 ball. I'm doing a little analysis on the crashes. My theory is by the time you get to 5 ball you know if you are going to make it or not. My worst crashes have occured when I'm early to 5, so my guess is I relax to early, and get pulled forward right out of the boots. What are your thoughts and experiences?

I crash more on my offside cut then my onside cut, RFF. Right after I complete my offside turn and start the pull through the wake. Happens before the wake. Most likely my form, trying to get the tip of the ski down like the pros, by putting more pressure on my right foot.

Usually around the 1 or 2 ball. It all has to do with the setup for me. Usually, if I have a good setup I can make a solid run. -Marc

I fall all over the course :). But my worst crash was an over the front coming off the second wake going to 3 (i'm regular LFF). It was my first run of the day with a new boat driver (and no PP). I'd like to blame it on boat driver, but I know my offside cut is weak, so I'm sure I was not in a stacked position.

Thanks for your replies. Wakingmehappy, I've also crashed on land! It hurt, water is a much better place to crash. It does seem like the offside is a cause of a lot of crashes. Something to work on this year!
