We just updated from a 02 vlx to a 12 vlx and was wondering if I'm going to notice much difference between wake size and shape. Looking forward to getting out there and playing with all the upgrades.

Actually the 02 wake was one of the best Malibu ever produced......just kidding! Your going to love the newer VLX wake! My favorite setting is full quad ballast and wedge one or two clicks up... that seems to make a fantastic wake.

You can't go wrong with the VLX wake at any speed or ballast config....congratulations on your new boat.... hey, where are the pics?

I had an 02 vlx and went to a 2010, for a while I was really blah about the new wake, but have come to like it. One of those things where you are use to something and then it changes. I just ran stock ballast and wedge on both so it's not like I was running crazy weight to change anything.

Wakebrdr94, not to get off topic, but where do you boat living in Yorba Linda, CA? Thats right in LA area right? Are there any lakes around there? We just got back from Del Mar (San Diego) last week. Our friends live there and said if you ever move here dont plan on boating because there are no lakes, and the ones that exist they dont allow you to get in the water?????? They get 3" of rain a of year... anyway, I was just curious is most people ski in salt there in forebays?

lots of people go out to the river. My cuz lives in Huntington Beach and tows his boat out to the river in the summer.

We have a place out in Parker that I don't get to use nearly enough. Locally we head to lake Elsinore. A lot of people don't like it as they say its dirty, but its a shallow lake, only like 26 ft. So in the summe the lake heats up a lot, then is subseptible to alge blooms. There's also Perris which I have not been on. Elsinore is about 40 mins away. If you can go mornings, it's awesome, if you want to go north, there's castaic or piru, but for me it's about an hour and a half drive on a weekend, maybe more depending on traffic

This was a Sunday about 11am In sept. How do you argue with that

Thats cool, I was just curious... September is a great month. Nice to see you can actually find good water. With the population of so. Cal and limited lakes I would think it would be crazy with boats.

We have about 6 lakes within 1 hr from us, shasta 3 hrs away, and the sacramento river and cal delta 15 mins from us. Nor cal is pretty stacked with water options. We also have a new cable park just opening 15 mins from our house. The hot weather sucks here, but its nice with all the lake options.

The Colorado river. Havasu. Parker. Mohave.

When people around here refer to the river, it's pretty much any portion of the stretch between Laughlin and Blythe. People have their preferences of where. Laughlin is cool as you can be in there water all day then be in the casinos at night. You can also run laughlin to havasu on the water. The river dams at havasu, then you get the Parker strip on the other side of the dam down to the blue water and big river, where it dams again. it runs from big river to Blythe. If you google map it just look up lake Mohave and follow the river down to Blythe

Shasta is awesome, I wish I could do more house boat trips there, but having a house in Parker makes trips too easy, just pull the boat and some clothes. Don't need to lug a bunch of stuff.

Shawn, where are you located?
