SSLXi Steering Cable

Recommended Posts

I am planning to replace my steering cable and I found that Bakes has it and their length guide shows I need a 19' cable. Can any Sunsetter LXI owners confirm this? I have a 2004 and it was replaced once by the dealer and the replacement does not have any markings (I have searched the cable jacket) and before I order I want to make sure it is right. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Boz. I figured it was right but didn't want to plan a day to work on it and then find out I had the wrong size.

Ya That's the correct size from what I remember when I replace mine on the 'ol SSLXI.

Rooster Tail

19' fit my '00 SSLXI. FWIW, I highly recommend paying the extra money for the "Xtreme" version (or whatever they are calling it now) rather than the OEM replacement. I replaced mine OEM the first time, and had to re-replace 2 years later. Granted, northern Utah winters aren't kind to cables, but that didn't make me any less grumpy while I was standing on my head pulling cables through.

Rooster. I always opt for "Xtreme" anything that I am purchasing. Especially when it is only $20 more and what a pain in the arse it is to change the cable.
