vinyl dye questions

06wakesetter

Recommended Posts

I have a 06 wakesetter. Its in great shape and has been well taken care of. However the vinyl seats and cushions are mostly white and have some light discolorations and small stains in spots. I have tried every cleaner imaginable from exquisite, babes, 303, magic eraser, etc. And well some have help with the dirt issue there is still some discoloration. It isnt bad but im one that likes the keep my boat in like new condition. Anyway i have been doing sone research on different vinyl dyes. I have looked at vinylpro and vht. Anyone havr any feedback on these as well as how long these will hold up? I know prep when using these products is key but just curious one what people that have actually used them think. Thanks guys

Unfortunately yes, it is an awesome product and I use it all the time, but still didnt help some of the spot I have. A couple of the spots are not going to be able to be cleaned I dont think. I have one spot that i just noticed yesterday. The boat is in storage now and i have battery tenders hooked up to both batteries. i have a cord running into the boat and the transformer plugins from the battery tenders are plugged into the cord and were laying on the seat. I didnt think much of it but yesterday I went out to do some cleaning and moved the cord and saw that the transformers had left two brown burn looking stains on the white vinyl. I would have never imagined it would have done this, but this is why I think my only option is to dye them or have them recovered.

Well some have discoloration issues from the factory cover, it's from the glue coming up on the seats. Try parking it in the sunlight for a few hours and see if some of those go away.
