What stereo options for '13 VLX...?

hey guys

Just wondering what options are "must haves" for a new VLX?

I spent many days last summer in a buddies 2012 "RIDE" that had an awesome sub and can speakers on the tower. All stock equipment.

To me, the Malibu system blows away competition for factory stereo systems.

Anyway, do I just go with the Sound Pack 3 with the 12" sub?

thanks in advance!!

Well, if you were really happy with the ride's, you will be even more with sound pack 3 because it has 8 interior speakers instead of 4.

Keep in mind though, you can build a much better aftermarket system for less than Malibu's system cost. However if you don't want to tear up your brand new boat and you were really happy with your buddy's system, sound pack 3 with sub and 4 tower speakers (I would recommend the wetsounds horn option) should be great for you!

I do not believe this would apply to the VLX, but I just want to share anyway. Some of the models only come with an 8" in-boat in some of the speaker locations. It requires a 7.1" mounting hole. Most typical 6.5" speakers will drop right through that. Then beyond that, there are screw holes with a diameter of 7.6" that would need to be covered. This poses a unique challenge for those wanting to go a smaller aftermarket speaker.
