What Type of (Waterski) Handle Do you Use

Recommended Posts

WTF

I'm really getting excited for the upcoming ski season. Mine season was cut short last year due to crash that dislocated my shoulder, around 5 ball. I'm thinking if I need a new handle. I have used Straightline, but it broke, used Radar but the rubber handle hardened and you couldn't grip it, and now I'm using Masterline. I am most impressed with Masterline. So that's what brought me to the Crew. What do you other course skiers use? Am I missing out on a high quality handle that will hold up for a season going 3 - 4 times a week?

Masterline or Accurate (which is made by HO). I like the arc handle over the straight bar. Won't be disappointed with either.

Been using Radar the last two seasons. Each manufacture has many in different price ranges. If I get a season out of one I am happy.

I use the Accurate .940 diameter arc/radius handle - love it. Skiing 3/4 times a week I usually get a season out of it before the rubber wears through to the aluminum core. Would be nice if they could "retread" the handles :-)

I use the Drew Ross Masterline 13", 1.062 radius handle...best handle I've ever had. I've Accurate ARS handles for years, really liked em a bunch until I got this Masterline.

Masterline is really good. We use a radar eliptical handle now that we really like as we have large hands so there's more surface area to get our hands on. It seems you get what you pay for.

All of you "little hands" guys crack me up! :) I finally found the handle for me -------- Masterline makes a 1.18 diameter handle. FINALLY !! It's like grabbing a tree trunk. I have had better success with this Masterline and previously with US Gear than with Straightline. Hopefully, Brenda from In Tow will start selling a 1.18. If she does, I'll buy one from her. Her ropes are great.

BTW, better success meaning handle lasted - not better scores.

I've never bought a handle from Brenda, but could not agree more with Bill. Brenda's ropes are absolutely fantastic...highly recommended.

I use her handles and have for about 4 years. Bought the knotless mainline and her radius 13" handle. Liked the handle so much I bought another one to always have as a spare. BUUUUT, the first one is still going strong! Fantastic handle!

I don't get the cheep ones. I think I have seen three price range handles from Radar. I have not tried the US Gear handles but they make a fine rope. And as some have said Brenda's ropes and handles have always been top notch.

I have gone to the 12" handles after all the injuries with handles I don't think I can get my fat head through a 12"

Never Straightlines....seen way too many break.

Liked the Radar, until the rubber hardened up.

I have an inTow from Brenda that is holding up nice http://www.jlbmfg.com , and also really like my Masterline Carbon Custom (that I purchased thru Crew Member Joe D from http://[email protected] ). I'd like to try out the USGear at some point.

Absolutely no straightline...broke two in a month last season. Then went with the Masterline Monster in a .94 and could not be happier. Not only did it not break over the last 2 months of the season but it barely even got worn. And getting the right size for my short fingers made a huge difference in my scores. I can hang on to cuts i never could before.

I absolutely fell in love with my a Radar Extended Handle this summer. The grip felt sooooo nice, and replaceable too. I also really liked the 13" long bar. But the yoke portion of it broke midway thru last season. It took Radar 3-4 months to replace it (I'm not sure if it was Radar or the dealer I purchased it from that dropped the ball). The new one is orange (vs the old yellow one), so I'm hoping the orange pigment is stronger than the yellow pigment.

With that said I will use the Radar extended handle and love every session with it, but if the yoke breaks again I will not replace it with a Radar handle.

I buy all my ropes and handles from Brenda. I like doing business with her and I've never been disappointed.
