What changed caused the Response LX draft to change 04 to 05?

I was looking through the specs, and Response LX is listed as 16" draft before 04. After 04, the draft is listed at 22".

Did the boat change or the measurement methods? I was under the impression that the boat hadn't changed.

You are correct, the hull did not change until '07.

16" cannot be correct unless it's measured while up on plane--even then it's questionable. 13" prop (known measurement--the rudder may be lower) plus an inch or so gap to the bottom of the hull means only 1.5"-2" of hull below the water line.

22" sounds about right. If you really want to know, measure from the bottom of your platform (or waterline) to the lowest hanging piece under the boat.

Maybe they changed from measuring on plane to sitting still. Either way I wouldn't run my boat in 16" or 22" of water. :)

Yeah, except Tommy Boy was on the wrong side. He wanted, with all his heart, to believe the 16" number. It was somebody else who called bogus on the published draft measurement...And a year later the number changed...

It will surely run in 16" of water, just stay over 36 mph. ;)

(just for clarification, the Response LX hull has not changed since the diamond hull was introduced in 1998, and the top deck was changed in 1999)

My understanding of the change was due to the change in measurement from the bottom of the hull instead of the waterline.
