What sacs are you guys using in your 05-2013 VLX's and VTX's?

I have a 2011 A22 and am using Fly High 750's. They fit really good except they cannot fill all the way as the hose/wiring access cover panel takes up some valuable space in the lockers on the seat back wall, so the sacks get squished a bit. I am guessing I am losing about 10%, no big deal. The fly high 400's fill completely as they are shorter bags.

I was wondering what all you vlx, vtx, lsv guys are using back there and if you have the same problem.

thanks

IMO, it's better weight wise, to use a sac that's a little oversize for your area. I'm not worried about filling a sac to the max like I would if it was just laying on the floor or a seat. I want to fill a sac so it will fill the area with ballast. An oversize sac will fill the locker better because it takes the shape of the locker as it fills and not the shape of the tube/bag.

I use 1100's in the lockers. I use a Seat Bottom sac under the port seats. Neither fills all the way but the complete area is full.

Alright, thanks guys. I figured most are using the fly high 750's since they fit so well. With Axis, they are about 10" too long and get squished a bit. I tested the Straightline SUMO 600's and they fit perfectly. In fact, I did a test with one of my FH 750's in one locker and the sumo 600 in the other locker. The 600 took about 30 seconds longer to fill than the 750. I am guessing that my 750 can only fill to 90% due to the locker configuration, so 675 lbs maybe, the 600 fills completely and I am guessing it is more like 700lbs.

Sounds like you malibu guys can put any locker sac in with no fitting problem. The cool thing about the sumo sacs is the 1" ID fittings on the sacs that will be a perfect match with 2012+ malibu's and 2013+ Axis' 1" ballast plug n play hoses and pumps.

Not sure of the logic on a 600 lb bag filling to 700 lbs but I agree that an oversize bag is not a bad thing as the maximum weight in the locker is in the scenario where all the space is used. I have a custom surf bag now but used to run 900 lb bags so I could fully fill the locker.

This is an internet forum, I thought we are supposed to leave logic at the door  ???

Serious note, I am just going off of the numbers stamped on the sacs. Fly high claims their 400's fill up to 550 if they are allowed to completely fill, causing some expansion... not sure if its true or not. I was just going off of Fly highs rating of 750 on my bag, and since it can't fill all the way, I am assuming it is less than 700 (based on Fly highs rating). The sumo 600 should have filled faster, but didn't, took another 30 seconds or so. I put my 750 back in and it filled and overflowed at the same time as the other side. So either the sumo 600s are around 700 when completely full, or the fly high 750's are only 575 lbs or so.

I do agree that getting a big sac and filling the compartment will net greater weight than filling a small sack completely, but I like not having to reinforce engine walls or constantly putting a lot of pressure on components.
