Barefoot Suit Repair

My son and I both have Vortex barefoot suits. His has developed a hole on the side where he rolls. It looks like it's just the stitching that has come loose. Can anyone recommend someone who does suit repair?

Going direct for warrenty repair would be one option. If you want to avoid shipping perhaps a local dive shop would know a local repair option or perhaps an excellent upholstery shop would be able to restich (a local shop that specializes in boat lift covers, canvas repair or things like that).

A good friend and skiing partner of mine (who is also a Dive Instructor's Instructor) had this to say....

Go to the local SCUBA shop and purchase a product called “Aqua Seal” if it is just stitching then apply a small amount over the threads where it is loose and allow 24 hours to dry. If the material has separated you may also purchase “Seal Cement” which is a contact cement. Apply 2-3 coats on each edge of the wetsuit seam (this should be bare neoprene, not nylon covered) then press together after it dries (about 15 minutes, also allow about 10 minutes between coats). Once pressed together, place a bead of the Aqua Seal over the repaired seam allow to dry 24 hours. Should be like new!
