Replaced raw water intake...Pictures inside

Hey guys, I'm ashamed to say that I let my raw water intake get neglected as long as I did. I didn't realize how bad it was until it was too late. It started leaking about 3-4 weeks ago, I put off doing the research until i realized the bearing was exposed, and by that time, it was too late to just replace the seal. The Bearing popped out of the housing and upon removal the whole pump fell apart. Moral of the story, replace your seals, they cost 17 bucks and will save you a big headache. (the three allen bolts were a B!tch to get out!), took a 3 foot pipe over allen key.

I did some research and once the pump showed up, I got to work, took me a few hours due to how little the allen bolts were moving. An impact driver would have been very handy. I'm just glad there wasn't any damage done to the motor.

Just for a reference point:

- The three allen bolts that hold the raw water intake to that pulley were rusted at the very tip, making them VERY difficult to even turn. (they are exposed to moisture and water on the other side of that pulley).

- The raw water intake i used is a Johnson F6B-9, Bakes has it listed as just an F6B, I don't know if there is a difference, but the F6B-9 off of ebay worked perfect for me. It was $199 Shipped.

- The F6B-9 came with the impeller installed in the pump so it was plug and play, and also pre lubricated.

Let me know if you guys have any questions, or comments!
