bama, not sure what you are referring to. The picture you took of the bu in production has hardware in the boat as part of the lamination and curing process for the hull, stringers, and floor. Jig and presses of many varieties are needed to "puch" everything together. Notably, in your axis video you showed the hull and deck being mated. That's not what that VLX hull is doing. There is no "steel" support in a bu. Anyone with a late model VLX (like is depicted in picture), please go hunting for steel supports in hull. Of course, there is steel in both Axis and bus, but not as depicted in this picture as if it is used as part of the construction process. Without being ground, glass resin won't even stick to steel. Does the hardware in the pictures look like its ready to be glassed?

85, I didn't drive it, I rode and sat in it with the 8 other people in my class (it was a school event), and I boarded behind it. They might not have filled the ballast all the way because the guy was having a hard time figuring how to push the switch. And the CC and vinyl might have been because it was a camp boat and got a lot of use and abuse. I will sit in a new one coming in a month and see if I change my mind (probably will). I'm sure filling the PNP would help.

My apologies if I misunderstood the build process. I was under the impression that the two steel upright supports in the picture were left in the boat to provide support to deck area.
