What do you mean "sadly"- YOU OWN A MALIBU- Sadly is owning a Mastercrap

I will plug in your hour into the spreadsheet with PRIDE! 55 hours per year is almost double the national average

I wouldn't agree with that.

If you look at how most ski boats are used, a good chunk of the time the boat is just idling....people getting in and out of the water, mucking around with setting up gear, sometimes just sitting there with the ignition switch on and listening to music w/o the engine even running at all.

My old 'BuSkier does 25mph at 2,200 rpm and that's where we cruise. Of course, the prior owner may have been doing 48mph at 4,300rpm all day long though (I hope not!)

The hour meter won't run unless the engine is at least idleing (newer boats). Those speeds and RPMs are the same as you would see in your car if kept in low or 1st gear. We normally get in the boat and go, minimal idleing.

JAXONBOATS - thanks for the gut check! I do own a malibu and have had zero problems... you are correct I shouldn't be complaining about the hours - I was hoping to get at least 100 this year and probably would have been closer had it not been for a few tournaments and a few boat demos. just griping as the weather is turning here in the PNW.

2002 Wakesetter LSV. Bought in September 2011 with 350 hrs. I now have 460 hrs. So about 110 hrs. in a year. Sadly I am getting ready to pull the boat for the winter, I would love to go out but have trouble convincing a crew to come with me when it is cold.

Quck hijack (but related) - to the guys that trailer to the water - how long is your average outing? We have a place on a lake but have also occasionally trailered to other lakes. Are you on the water for 4 hours, 6 hours, etc.? I think we would put an easy 100 hours per season if we were launching the boat each time. Once your are out there, you are out there for a while it seems and you tend to make the most of it.

I have a dock with a lift.. easy in /out. I'll lower the boat Friday afternoon and put back on the lift Sunday sunset (park on the other side of the dock in-between) It makes a difference. This time of year I have removed the lift for winter so I have to trailer the boat across the street to use it. If conditions are marginal (always are this time of year because of the wind) or I don't have at least 2 other people wanting to ride I don't bother.
