power wedge wires

Recommended Posts

Popped the hatch on the swim platform on our 2006 23 XTi and saw what look like two mid-line 1/4" wires running parallel on our power wedge. Some of the covering is torn off the wires and one is more frayed than the other. Service Dept is closed at our local dealer, plus hassle to haul the boat in to have them take a look. Any idea what these wires do? Are they important?

Have a call in to Malibu CA (open 8-5 PST) called at 2:20 pm and left a message. Hope the Crew and the seemingly endless font of knowledge will come through. Thanks

The only wires I know ofg back there are the wires for the Actuators for the power wedge as you mentioned... I would seal them up with the heat shrink or cut out the frayed portion and re-splice and heat shrink...

Thanks for the help. Photobucket challenged. Malibu TN actually answered the phone and then had a Malibu CA service tech call me. Turns out the wires in question are acctuator wires for the power wedge and will be looked at shortly by my dealer. Was hoping to get out at least one more time, but the tech said not a good idea. :(
