Yes i was trying to figure out what the crusing speed compared to the rpms were on my boat. I think my inline transmissin may be slipping and just wanted to compare it to other boats. I am running 16 mph @ 2,000 RPM's and 29 mph @ 3,000 RPM's. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

All depends on the prop you're running and the ratio of your transmission. My transmission is 1.03:1 and I run a higher pitch prop so I turn slightly lower rpms at speed. At 30mph I'm turning around 2900 rpm's.

Have you checked your transmission fluid?

Mine runs about 20 mph at 2000, and pretty close up to 1 mph per hundred rpms up past 3800 rpm = 38 mph

Acme 515 prop, which I think is a 12 pitch

I use an iPhone dashboard app on speed

:plus1: 36 MPH @ 3600 RPM or very close. With stock prop.

Are you sure about the 1.03:1 transmission? I have seen 1:1, which is what malibu uses in every Reponse I have ever seen, although they have sometimes run a different trans at say the Malbu open or other major ski events, but I have never heard of a 1.03:1 in a Malibu. just asking!

Natique and MC have run reduction transmission in a number of their DDs

Not 100% sure, just going on what a mechanic told me. I know it's close to 1:1, as opposed to a reduction transmission.

I know it is a 1:1,....not close.....no such thing as a 1.03:1...maybe your mechanic was pulling your leg???
