2013 VTX Dash

When we demo'd a 2013 vtx we couldn't find it either. I hope it's not an oversight on the maliview . Losing the analog gauges is the only thing I don't like about the 2013 upgrades/changes. In my opinion the maliview gets too busy and there is no one screen that has everything i want to see.

Imo i feel it looks like they are trying to cut costs by eliminating the speedo and tach. I very much like having thoes 2 analog gauges, and the info in the lcd in each too.

Im sure i can live without, but it will take some getting used to and so far im not a fan of lcd only.

I do like the way the mtc is raised up, that makes good sense.

Peter, billy has been asked, haha! Any ideas please let me know!

They're listed in the maliview data I expect. Check under Maliview diagnostics screen in the setup.

Try this:

Go to the mali-view diagnostics page and in the middle column

there is a line called engine hours. Add a decimal before the last

digit to know the hours ex: 71=7.1 hrs or 255=25.5 hrs

Peter thanks will look today. For the record billy hasn't looked at it just been asked. I'm sure he'd a gotten it figured out if he had it to look at :).

As for the naysayers on the new dash it takes a little adjustment but the visibility is fine. I'm a fan. Actually allows for better view of the slalom course for what it's worth.

I don't like this at all... no gauges, no lcd display, and it looks way, way too tall. Seeing over this will not be easy.

That dash is about the same height as the old dash. Just with less width! It is much improved as long as the data is easy to find.

I do like how you don't have to reach through your steering wheel to touch the MLS and radio controls which is what I have to do now. I would like to sit in one to see what visibility is like.

Is that why they have the single spoke steering wheel? I don't really care for that look but I wouldn't want to reach through the new Ginsu steering wheel.

In person the pictured steering wheel, and the new throttle control, are both really nice. With the screen placement there is no reason to ever attempt to reach through the steering wheel.

River, you dont reach thru the steering wheel on the single spoke.... you reach around, that is very well designed, not an issue.

I am sure the engine hrs are now on the Malivue near where temps and the other engine #'s are. honestly, I like the design, very sleek and simple, similair to MC and Nautique's.

Knob is different, sure, but when the brushed look matches the rest of the new interior metal it works well and feels great in the hand. As a skier, I was never a fan of the top button release mechanism. Have to go in and out of gear way more than wakeboarding and its much less natural tahn picking up the collar.

I agree, however the top button release mechanism makes it a lot less likely to accidently slam it into reverse when trying to return the throttle to neutral in an emergency situation.

Hi Peter,

Are you likely to have one at your place I can look at when I bring my VTX up for winterizing?
