Where do you live? (Roughly)

Bradley Thornton's post on member location has triggered this post, something I've been thinking about for a while. I've noticed that a fair number of Crew members leave the location field on their profiles blank, was wondering why this is? It's a bit frustrating when members describe weather, water or other conditions or events in their locale but the reader has no idea where they're talking about.

Even just listing which Country and State the location is would be good, certainly doesn't allow anyone to pinpoint them exactly if it's a privacy issue people are worried about.

Having travelled through around 30 US states last year it's nice to picture the locations Crew members live and ski at.

I grew up on the Jersey coast, doing my skiing on the Raritan Bay, up and down the ocean coast, and in the calmer inlets and rivers. Both clubs I belonged to in the late 60's/ early 70's were located on these inlets. We vacationed on lakes in upstate NY and VT. This was the only fresh water our boat ever got to taste. I moved inland a year before I got married (1987), and continued vacationing in NY and VT till this year when I was finally able to buy a vacation lakehouse in upstate NY. My wife and I took the whole summer off to enjoy our new place.

:plus1: I feel the same way.. I love the map and am on it I was just thinking today that the map should stay on the front of it's topic so people will see it when they are new and add themselves maybe someone can do that  . My post was just something to get a list some people may like a list to look at for fun like right now more cities in Michigan than California and the list on Tenn is getting bigger I like a list better than a map to look at but the map is for everyone and tell where people live so I like it better for it's use.
