Prop Suggestions

Crew- I have a 2011 247 with the 6.0L motor. Runs 42-45mph WOT.

Looking for more torque while running heavy loads surfing. It averages around 10.8mph 2700rpms up to 11.6mph 3100rpms.

currently has the 1939 on there.... I wouldnt mind loosing a few MPH at WOT, rarely run that fast. lots of hype on the 5 blades.

I dont know anything about props. would appreciate any/ all suggestions or experiences. Looking for more torque in 0-11MPH with heavy loads.

Ryan,

I'm no expert on props but I have some of the same questions as you. I have heard that Malibu has not completed any testing on the 5 blade and at this point does not recommned it yet. I was about to buy one and got that from my dealer...FWIW.

In the Acme line go with the 1235, you'll get that low end torque you're looking for. I ran the OJ five blade and it performed similar, but no real advantages over the 1235 except lower RPM range at wakeboard speeds. If you want more than the 1235 you can step up to one of the 15" props, but for all around performance the 1235 is hard to beat.

You might consider the ACME 2249. It is a 15x14.25 prop and works really well at low speeds / heavy weight. You might loose 1 or 2mph from the 1939. If you buy direct from ACME you will pay a little more but have the option of returning and trying different sizes until you find what you like. Happy prop shopping.

My hammerhead hit the rev limiter this weekend at 53-5400. But I only got to 39 MPH. It worked for barefooting, but the guy wished I could have gone just a little faster.

I have the 1235 and feel that it can pull stumps. I don't know much about the prop you have, but I definitely have zero complaints about my 1235. That is probably the first and last time I will be pulling a footer.

I have run the OJ TZX5 on a LSV 23 with the LSA And can say it is a true stump puller. Max speed was 40. It was not enough of a prop for that combo the motor could break it free anytime you through the throttle forward. It should be a great option for your setup with extra weight. I have one, pm me if Interested.
