surfgate design -- critical parameters

I see you guys have done lots of cool work. When looking at the designs, I think there are 5 or 6 major variables.

Length -- distance from stern

Height -- height above swim platform top

DepthP -- distance from the bottom of the surfgate to the top surface of the swim platform

DepthB -- distance from the bottom of the hull to the bottom of the surfgate

Angle -- From a top view, the angle between the side of the hull and the surfgate

Yaw -- From a stern view of the boat, This is the angle between the plane of the surfgate and plumb vertical

What are the contributions from each of these variables on wake and boat handling?

I got the chance to look at a surfgate boat today. The one thing I saw that has not been talked about is how Malibu has reinforced the transom. Oh boy is there a lot more glass back there. Any one have any thoughts.

Wow good to know. It's so confusing because it really does look like they are using 10 dollar stainless hinges from the local hardware store. In other words the hinges look weak. Maybe because they prefer that the hing fails before fasteners get pulled out of the transom?
