There is no reason to pwer turn to rush back to a downed rider/skier.

Power turning does NOT get you back there any faster - REALLY.

Practice being a good driver.

By this I mean watch your rider in the mirror at all times and keep faced forward to monitor traffic.

Be aware of EVERYTHING around you at all times.

If you are watching your rider at all times you'll see the moment they are down and usually can even anticipate the fall.

Then immediately power down to neutral then turn under slightly more than idle power and motor back to them.

You'll getr back to the rider just as fast - maybe faster - as if you power turned (which takes a bigger arc no matter how much of a hot shot you are).

This is more efficient and courteous.

Even in the case of dire emergencies, calm and consistency is a way better action.

I totally agree with the above statement. I will also say that there is no one procedure for every situation. BUT, if you are quick back to neutral and turn around inside your own wake. You are not only just as fast getting back, you also keep the a$$hole that's following too close from veering into your boarder to avoid your big turn.

Fortunately our lake does not get a lot of traffic. In most cases you can take your time and ease back to the rider without causing any rollers.
