URGENT INFO

I already have sent a message about this.

But it did not get a lot of rsponse.

I need help from all the Rlxi owners.

We are going to construct a trailer for our boat ourselves.

It is a Response Lxi.

At the moment, I am unable to go to our boat because of health reasons. The boat is about 50 miles from our house.

But our friend who is going to draw a plan needs more info.

Position of the 3 fins and the lenght downwards.

Position of the keel support.

Position and lenght of the bunks.

Position and height of the guide poles.

Lowest point: rudder: distance from botten of the hull.

Position of the engine from the front and the back of the boat.

Thanks for the help.

I would think they are great questions for anyone at Malibu.. They might be able to help a little quicker then the resonses. Good luck on the research!!

Would you really want to put the time and expense into building a trailer based on dimensions provided by an internet discussion forum?

If Malibu won't provide the info I think you'll need to bite the bullet and buy a trailer.

I, too, was questioning in my own mind as to the wisdom of skimping on the trailer with a homemade one. If you can afford a RLXi, why not buy a nice matching trailer made to fit the boat?

It would certainly help on the resale.

Seems to me Chaabo covered this awhile back. For some reason it's easy to import a boat but, not the trailer.

How did you get your boat, or rather, through whom? A dealer should be able to help you with all the dimensions, if not get you a diagram or schematic on the trailer itself, given your situation. If no dealer, I'd contact Malibu customer service. Jack and Ruta couldn't even agree on draft measurements, so I sure wouldn't rely on this crew for trailer dimensions. Crazy.gif

Jack and Ruta couldn't agree because Jack was obviously right and Rutat was uncharacteristically wrong! Heck, most anyone with a boat knew that.

Contact one of the trailer manufacterers for the dimensions.

Aw, man. I can't believe GT beat me to it. I was going to go out and buy an RLXi just so I could take some measurements for this guy.

Ah, the Draft Wars. Those were the days.

Position of the 3 fins and the length downwards.

Measuring from the back of the boat down the centerline, the tracking fins are

blah blah blah

which could be positioned after the boat is on the bunks is about 18'10" from the back of the trailer. Length overall is ~22'2".

Hope this helps

Ask the man what time it is, and he'll tell you how to build a watch! :)

(nice work, GT...)

We're getting close. My lake is probably still 3 weeks away, but there are others in the area where the ice is beginning to clear. One thing is certain: tvano will be pinging me the moment there is ski-able water. I can't wait! Yahoo.gif

My lake has 300 fisherpeople on it today. Maybe they'll drill enough holes to weaken it for me?
