Has anyone used or know anyone that has used HydroPhase versus Perfect Pass?

I can't speak from first hand experience but I have been researching paddlewheel vs gps for awhile. From what I gather gps tends to hold speed better. People say that the paddlewheel's tend to "wander" a bit with speed, especially in turns. With that said, if you are riding on a moving body of water like rivers or tidal areas, gps systems can only register speed over land. So you might be going too fast or too slow depending on if you are riding with or against the current. Some of the newer boats I believe came with paddlewheel speed control and people weren't satisfied. Nauticlaugic offers a gps system that works with the paddlewheel so you get the best of both worlds.

For $300 in savings ($200 if you don't document and picture your install) it isn't worth it. No GPS, the display isn't as nice and won't match your boat either. Good luck getting that display to fit anyway since they don't sell a 5" version.
