Odd no-start condition

Went to start the ski club's 2005 response (LCR) saturday. Turned over fine, wouldn't fire.

Opened hatch. Turned key to on. Fuel pump no prime. I removed the safety lanyard and depressed button watching reaction when I went to on. Gauges flutter but return to zero (no fuel, volts etc.) and no fuel pump prime. From there it would turn over but wouldn't fire and gauges never showed correct values. Notably, perfect pass NEVER booted up (no display and servo never wound)

I've read one bad gauge can affect performance (operation) of others but nothing that would suggest a bad gauge would prevent starting. Can MMDC prevent starting?

any thoughts? Thanks.

So gauges acted differently depending on whether lanyard was pulled or not?

Simplest solution is the safety switch. And crank but no fuel / no gauges is consistent with that.

Yes was different depending on switch which would suggest to me switch works. So what would prevent correct info on gauges and and firing yet allow gauge flutter? Thanks

I would check your key switch. Possible that power from switch to fuel pump is open along the way. Check the circuirt all way back to pump incl citcuit breaker/ fuse. Disconnect battery and while under there pull all the connections to the gauge controller off and then refit. Also do a wiggle & jiggle of the wires. You may have something loose or bad connection.
