MANUAL WEDGE PROBLEM

WOODSBU2

Recommended Posts

I was on the water the other day and went to put the wedge down and I couldn't get it to go down. Later when we took the

boat out of the water I went to check the wedge everything looked good and it went down without a problem. The next day on the water

the wedge wouldn't go down again.

Has anyone had this problem?

On mine, the wedge barely touches the platform. Pins squeeze in easy with no weight on the platform. Stand on the platform and use the hatch door, and one pin is really tough to move, cuz the platform is putting some pressure on the wedge. So I grab the pins with one hand and squeeze, then grab the wedge with the other hand and yank up.

I was in the water trying to put in down. One of the kids might have been on the platform. I've had the boat now for about 8 years and have never had a problem.

If you were having trouble squeezing the pins, it was stated above, the platform sags enough with someone standing on it to rest on the wedge, applying pressure to the pins.

Sorry to hijack -- does anyone have problems with the speedo pickups interfering with the pin? On my '98 Sunsetter it's a huge PITA as the pin hits the speedo pickup just before it clears the bracket. Bad design?
