Anchor Light & LED problems

Recommended Posts

Ive got a 2006 VLX and none of my LED or the anchor lights are working. They aren't getting juice. Where do I start to find the problem?

Start by looking at the Volt Indicator to make sure you have 12V, then look at the Fuse panel, see if one has just popped out

LEDs are super low current which would suprize me if that fuse actually popped.

Anchor light is a standard 12V bulb (~guessing @ 10 watts)

What has changed since you last confirmed things were working perfectly? any dash exposure to water?

what have you checked so far?

does the switch illuminator come on when you flip the toggle?

BE HAPPY, if you had a 2008 or 2009 you might be looking and changing the Medallion MUX controller.

I am sure this is an easy find.

I bought the boat used just over a year ago and some of the internal lights have never worked. The illuminator light does come on. I've got a test light and half the lights aren't getting electricity.

Frustrated. I bought new lights only to find that this is not the issue.

It is pretty easy with a test light to see if the power is getting to the toggle switch, it might be just the switch. also be sure to check the ground block to make sure all the wires are actually tight and grounded. If you find no power to the switch follow the leads back - you will find either that someone has disconnected them by pulling on them or a end that is just not connected properly.

Where would the ground block be? The switch and half the lights work. I used a test light and the LED's and anchor light are not getting electricity.
