I have an 02 vlx with the Indmar Chevy 350 engine. My alternator went out this past weekend and needs replacing. The current one has a 70 amp output. The boat has amps, subs and lights on the tower so I wanted more output from the new one. Probably running 500 watts of extra stuff. Anyone have any suggestions on a new one that will still physically fit ?

see if the existing one can be rebilt and have additional capacity/phase added///if possible.

I have read lots of horor stories about folks wanting to upgrade the alternator and the new one not fitting, the connectors are different, etc.
