i have my mirror to the walkthrough wind shield. the problem is that i will lose sight of the rider just outside of the wake on either side. is there a 180 degree mirror that will attach to the stock bracket? the ptm mirrors are nice but pricey

You could put two small cheap mirrors right next to each other....

Scrap the walkthru mirror and get a tower mounted one. My issues with windshield mounts:

-cause huge blind spot right above windshield so when looping back for dropped skiiers, you lose sight of them close to the boat.

-tower mounted mirrors sit higher up and out of your normal field of view so it never blocks view of your surroundings

-when it's hot, having to close the passthru to be able to have a mirror is absurd

-can't set it and forget it b/c if your boat cover requires it be folded flat

Best $ you can spend! I still can't believe they put a passthru windshield mounted mirror on a $100k boat...

I have used the Cipa extreme for the last two years. It has been a great mirror but will require you to move your head to see the skier the whole time.

I just got the PTM Edge mirror. It is the best $200 I have spent on the boat. The PTM mirror attached to the windshield mount that came with the Cipa mirror so I didn't order their mount. I have the mirror mounted right above the driver' side of the windshield. It is high enough that it does not impact forward vision at all and vision the the rear is amazing. It is really close to 180 degrees and really clear. The size of images is about the same as the Cipa Extreme mirror just a wider angle of view. The mirror is wider than the Cipa mirror and the image doesn't appear distorted. Monster tower has a mount that appears like it will work with the factory mirror mount for $40. It looks similar to the one PTM sells. I make shell out the additional $230 for the Malibu windshield mount from PTM. If I wait till Christmas for that it won't seem like I spent over $400 for a mirror.

The mirror is definitely worth the $200 to be able to have great visibility to what is going on behind you. Oh, and did I mention it is really clear! :)
