Monsoon oil filter

Recommended Posts

I posted quite qhile ago, info about oil filter quality...and purolator and Fram are the amoung the cheapest filters, with the least amount of filter media on the market. aside from Pennzoils, which I thiink are made by Fram.

Hopefully you are putting good quality oil in your boat, doesn;t it deserve a good filter too?

I thought someone said purolators were alright?

I don't really care, I've just been running them for awhile.

Any ideas why the 4x4 and 4x2 350 chevy filters are different sizes?

The old numbering for GM delco filters was PF-25 and PF-35. The only difference is the length (which also impacts filter surface area and oil volume capacity). The original filter that came on my monsoon was a penzoil labeled PF-25. The PF-35 is longer but also fits fine.

On the 4x4 versus 4x2, do they call for the above filters? If so probably a clearance issue on the 4x4 and the bigger PF-35 so you have to use the PF-25.
