I prefer the fit and finish of a VLX to the Axis. Put them side by side, if you can, and compare. I think you will find the VLX has more features and is more comfortable. But if you are buying the Axis new you will at least have a full warranty which speaks volumes to me. Either way you are setting yourself up for a lot of enjoyment. Cheers!!

I am in the market, and looked at a MXZ and an Axis side by side. My wife and I both were disappointed in the interior quality on the Axis. We have decided on a Surf Gate 2013 VLX. For what you get in the difference in price is worth it to me. My opinion would be a used Malibu over the Axis. Keep in mind that a nicely optioned Axis will be mid $50's at best. You could get a 2008-2009 VLX for that, and with some luck maybe a LSV.
