Rear Ballast Pump Access

Recommended Posts

Rear right ballast tank won't drain on my 2008 LSV, tried to get the small access panel off in the locker in the back to manually drain the tank and look at the pump but had no luck.

Does anyone know how to remove the panel? Prying doesn't work so it has to be connected somewhere but I couldn't find any screws, heading back up to the lake tomorrow to try and tackle it again. It is the small raised panel by the engine separator in the locker. Thanks for any advice!

I believe the screws are along the side by the engine. They are really hard to find in the carpet. You might try siding a magnet along the edge to find the screws. One of my winter projects is to pull both panels and put an access hatch in each so i can access the drain pumps without removing the whole panel. I have had to pull apart the center tank drain several times but luckily it is really easy to access.

You may want to make sure it isn't just air locked. Mine does this regularly. I clear it by hitting fill for a bit and wait untill the added pressure clears the air lock.
