Battery Tender Solar Charger

Recommended Posts

Been looking at this thing and wondering if anyone has heard anything about it. I keep my boat in dry storage so I'm not around an outlet very often. Thoughts anyone? I'm thinking it'll be a little slow to charge....

I use a 10w solar panel with regulator to keep my batteries 100% charged. The one you have pictured would do same job. Small wattage panels are not for charging, rather for maintaining. Hence why it says 'Tender' instead of charger on the green sticker.

I use my boat every week too. Since I installed a couple of amps and a sub, i'm draining the batteries pretty good and really need a way to keep them charged a bit. We usually only go down for the day and just not around any outlets. On occasion we will stay overnight and then I'll plug a real charger on them. I have a battery tender jr for my atv/lawnmower/bikes and stuff and it works great for them. It'd be cool to anchor down and try to charge one amp while running the other one or could be a complete waste of $100! Lol
