I have a 1985 Skier. I just got it last year and just got it going. I did a two day trip and then a full week trip, last week at Havasu. Any ways I was going thru my boat cleaning it stuff and realized that the two bolts that hold the motor mounts down where kinda coming out. So I went to tighten them and realized they where all loose. Come to find out the two beam/runners (I don't know what there called) are all rotted out under the fiberglass. I want to shot the guy in the head that sold me the boat because it has had a hand full of problems and this ones the worst. Has anyone ever had to cut out that section and replace it? If so how much, or did you do it yourself? I'm going to attempt doing my self if anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it. THANKS

My old boat had rotten stringers as well. I used a product caled Git Rot and it actually lasted a few seasons and I never had issues with the bolts backing out again. Git Rot is only a bandaid though and the stringers will have to be replaced.
