CL-Rides, It's not really a speed issue to clear that second wake, but more of a pop issue. What I would suggest is as you edge out and flatten off (before you head back into the wake) try squatting down slightly. Make sure to bend at the knees and keep your chest up. Hold this squatted position as you initiate a progressive edge back into the wake. The squat will give you some extension so that as you edge up the wake you have room to push harder, up, and away from the boat. Right now you're coming in super straight legged and it is limiting your ability to edge up and thru the wake. Good luck!!!

Here's a Youtube vide of a batwing. Not the best one ever, but if you notice his edge, it's a constant edge all the way into the wake and then the last 3-4 feet he swoops his hips up and thru the wake. For me, batwing is all about that swoop.

I can. What seems to be your problem? It's all about the last 3 feet of edging. Have to make sure you are standing tall, and that as you approach the trough you load your hips up and swoop them up and through the wake. It's similar to a lot of raley/glide tricks in that it's really easy to do but you have to commit and let the board fly up and away so that you hit full extension which makes snapping it back down much easier.

My problem is after i kick the board behind me and make the grab, i cant pull it back fast enough not to catch the front of the board in the water. I have had a few bad slams.

You're not extending it enough then. If you edge all the way up and thru the wake it will fly up high and snap back down on all on it's own. Watch the last 3ft of edging on that video CL-Rides posted... that's where this trick happens!!! Post some video if you got it..
