Prop tips curled over

Recommended Posts

I was having a slight vibration a high speeds so I thought I would check the prop and sure enough the last 3/4 of the tip of the prop are bent back. Only one blade had a slight nick in it, the blades seem to be bent back by the water. Is this account possible. I straightened them the best I could and will be buying another prop and then get this one fixed.

Thanks Scott

You had to have grazed against something. Not a solid blow that would've mangled the prop, but just enough to bend the tips. Prop guard on your trailer, possibly? Mine has some very light scoring on it that looks like the previous owner might've made light contact with it at some point.

I posted the first message from my wife's phone, quite funny. Thanks for the replies. I was in some mud two weeks ago that might have done it, I didn't have it running while we were in the mud though.

Thanks

Scott

To the OP, ceck your trailer for paint chips, then you can either rule that our or know that you got a bit sideways and nicked the trailer.
